At our first meeting of 2012 (February 4th) we enjoyed a fascinating talk by Sir Roger Bannister, with many anecdotes from his experiences in the Olympics and other sporting activities, and reflections on future developments.
The Olympic Games: Ancient and Modern
Summer Social, Greys Court
On Friday May 11th a number of us gathered at Greys Court, near Henley. After coffee, we were given a private guided tour by the House Steward, whose love and enthusiasm for the building and its associated family, were an added bonus. We had lunch in the tea room, after which people took time to explore the beautiful and varied gardens.
We held our Autumn Lecture Meeting on Saturday 29th September. Helen Rappaport presented the final days in the tragic life of Tsar Nicholas and his family.
Before Helen's delightful and illuminating talk we had our Annual General Meeting.
We met at the Abingdon Arms in Beckley for our Winter Lunch. As always, we enjoyed good food and good company!
